NITK's very own kite festival drawing in sand artists, professional kite flyers, and just a huge crowd of young and old alike looking to have some fun over the weekend. It is held by none other than yours truly.

Tug Of War
Tug of war (also known as rope pulling) is a sport that pits two teams against each other in a test of strength: teams pull on opposite ends of a rope, with the goal being to bring the rope a certain distance in one direction against the force of the opposing team's pull. We had many rounds on the beach with music and sunset that made it a great experience for students and our faculty as well, who engaged in a fun round to win.
Kite Flying
Kite festivals are a popular form of entertainment throughout the world. They include large local events, traditional festivals which have been held for hundreds of years and major international festivals which bring in kite flyers from other countries to display their unique art kites and demonstrate the latest technical kites.
Kite flying is the most awaited part of Udaan. Kites of different shapes and colors being flown all over the beach as the sun sets with gentle breeze and crimson colored waves offer the perfect scenery.
